Congratulations to our Research Scientist Dan Jin for publishing a new cannabis research paper on influential and high-impact peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE. This work adopted cutting-edge genome sequencing technologies and genetic analysis tools to first classify modern cannabis strains into three chemotypes using genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). We believe that this work has shed light on the possible solutions to elucidate the confused genetic backgrounds of commercially available cannabis strains and to identify genetic markers for strain selection in clinical trials and for manufacturing cannabis-based products and medicines.
